In summer 2018, work started on the first phase of housing on the Brough South development – 200 new homes being built by Barratt Homes Yorkshire East – following extensive land-raising and infrastructure work to ensure the properties would not be susceptible to flooding.

The start of construction kicked off one of the most exciting periods in the development’s history, the creation of high quality homes, ranging from two-bedroom starter homes to detached, four-bedroom executive houses.

To reflect Brough’s history, the first tranche of housing was christened Harrier’s Way, and with both work on site and sales progressing ahead of forecasts, Brough South is proving a desirable place to live.

Complementing this, Bellway Homes started work on the second phase of housing on the development, the creation of 325 homes at Brough South, in March 2022. This part of the development is continuing to progress well with the show home now open.

The next phase of residential development will see David Wilson Homes build a further 225 homes on site with work starting in October 2023. This brings the total of new housing on the site to 750.

The houses are located just a short walk from the Humber Estuary, Welton Waters and the surrounding countryside, and residents will also benefit from a host of new amenities also being developed as part of Brough South.

Completed amenities include an Aldi supermarket and new primary school, and those proposed for the future include a care home, non-food shops, food, drink and leisure facilities and a variety of other opportunities.
