BUILDING NEW HOMES, BUILDING A COMMUNITY
In 2017, Barratt Homes Yorkshire East secured planning permission to build the first phase of residential development at Brough South.
The application, for a total of 200 houses, was granted following extensive land-raising and infrastructure work to ensure the properties would not be susceptible to flooding.
Work started on site in summer 2018, to build a range of properties from two-bedroom starter homes to detached, four-bedroom executive houses.
Completions on this first tranche of development – christened Harrier Way to reflect Brough’s aviation history – are expected to take place in August this year.
The development paves the way for further house building on site.
Harrier Way is the first of four phases of residential development that will take place at Brough South, creating high-quality homes for local people as well as people relocating to the area.
The houses are located just a short walk from the Humber Estuary, Welton Waters and the surrounding countryside, and residents will also benefit from a host of new amenities also being developed as part of Brough South.
Proposed amenities include healthcare facilities, a supermarket and non-food shops, a family pub and restaurants, and a variety of new premises for local businesses.
A new school, Hunsley Primary, has already opened at Brough South and is thriving.
