Land raising work is set to recommence at Brough South following a review of health and safety procedures in the light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Work on site was temporarily stopped earlier this year, due to unseasonably high levels of rainfall.
But following a careful review of health and safety practices, land raising is set to resume again in April.
The decision to restart the work has been taken because the contractors are able adopt safe working practices including social distancing.
This means it can be carried out in compliance with the relevant government regulations and guidance.
Other site works have been suspended or postponed until further notice.
The news means HGVs and other heavy plant vehicles will be active on site and on the surrounding roads from next month.
They will cross the railway line using the bridge on Moor Road, bear left towards the eastern end of the development and cross the public footpath and Common Lane when making deliveries.
We urge members of the public taking exercise in these areas to be extra vigilant at all times, as we are anticipating regular deliveries to the site.
