Local contractor CR Reynolds has been appointed to undertake infrastructure work for the site of Hunsley Primary – a new primary school that will form an important component of the Brough South development.
Work being undertaken by the Hessle-based company includes building an access road to the site, and the formation of a development platform to ensure the building is lifted out of the flood zone.
Scheduled to be completed by January 2018, the work at will enable the Education & Skills Funding Agency to bring Hunsley Primary forward.
This is the second contract CR Reynolds has won in relation to the Brough South development.
The company is also completing Phase 2 of the Brough South Relief Road, which connects Moor Road in the east of the town to land on the south of the railway line.
Once completed, the school will be managed by Education Alliance, a multi-school trust also including South Hunsley and Malet Lambert.
The school will be single-storey, contemporary style, and consist of a reception class and six year classes, each catering for a maximum of 30 pupils.
It will form part of Brough South, a £200m mixed use residential, retail, leisure and commercial scheme being brought forward by the Horncastle Group PLC on behalf of the Brough South Consortium.
